Shakardarra elders seek police help to curb crimes.

KOHAT -- Elders of Shakardarra town here have demanded establishment of checkposts on Mianwali road at Sabirabad and in Rehmanabad for checking smuggling, escape of proclaimed offenders to Punjab and shifting of stolen vehicles.

Speaking at an open court held by district police officer Mansoor Aman, they also asked for setting up a library in the courtyard of the police station, traffic police to control rush of traffic in bazaar, action against holding of illegal jirgas and registration of FIRs in the police station instead of police access lines.

Responding to the people's demands, the DPO ordered immediate deployment of two traffic police officials in the bazaar and asked the police to find suitable places for establishment of police stations at Sabirabad and Rehmanabad.

He said the people should make the best use of police access lines to curb illegal jirgas. He said that people should bring their disputes to dispute resolution council which would be constituted soon.

Later, he went to the grave of martyred police constable Mohammad Jehanzeb and offered fateha there.

He said that sacrifices of police in war against terror could not be forgotten.
