Several areas sealed in Matiari after six persons who attended governor's lunch traced.

HYDERABAD -- The Matiari administration sealed several areas in Old Saeedabad on recommendations of health authorities on Saturday after six more persons, who tested positive on April 30 in the wake of the Sindh governor's April 22 visit, were traced on Monday night.

Until now they were staying at their homes and according to Deputy Commissioner of Matiari Ghulam Hyder Chandio, they would be taken to a private place from their homes as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).

According to reports, these patients might not be kept in the isolation centre set up 2km away from Hala by the administration.

They are likely to be shifted to private premises owned by Abdul Razzaq Memon, who had hosted a lunch for the Sindh governor on April 22 at his filling station.

The Sindh governor visited Matiari on April 22 on invitation of Razzaq Memon, former member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional. The governor tested positive on April 24 in Karachi.

After Imran Ismail's positive test, Razzaq Memon got his test done which turned out to be negative.

Following Mr Memon's test, 17 other persons who were his guests at the lunch got their tests done on their own a Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Khairpur on April 30. Six of them were found positive.

A banker tested positive during the test of a group of seven persons. Some 24 persons, in all, underwent tests out of a list of those 66 persons, who were present in the lunch or performed duties during the governor's event. Seven of them have been found positive.

Screening of the SSP, DC and other officials was also done.
