Seven more shopkeepers arrested for violating coronavirus SOPs.

TAXILA -- Police arrested seven shopkeepers for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Subdivisional Police Officer DSP Tahir Kazmi said: 'Taxila police on directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Mohammad Ahsan Younas conducted raids in different areas to check implementation of SOPs as issued by the Punjab government to control the pandemic. The seven shopkeepers were arrested under section 188 Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for violating SOPs and preventive measures announced by the Punjab government to contain coronavirus spread. Operation against violators will continue and they will be sent behind bars.'

Furthermore, Mr Kazmi informed newsmen that Wah Cantonment police Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Kamran Kiyani arrested four people, including a proclaimed offender, wanted in a case since 2019.

'Waqas Ahmed, Jabran Khan and Taimour Tahir were arrested and police recovered illegal weapons and liquor from their possession while a proclaimed offender identified as Nasir Khan, wanted in a case booked under 489-F PPC in 2019, was also held.
