Seven cops booked for torturing man to death.

TOBA TEK SINGH -- Gojra Saddar police on Tuesday registered a case against six officials of Gojra City police for torturing a 60-year-old man to death during a raid at his house at Chak 367-JB, Jallianwala, on Monday.

According to the first information report (RIP) registered by the deceased's son Waqar Masih, Head Constable Muhammad Arif was forcing his father, Younas Masih, to refrain from being a witness in a murder case. On Younas's refusal, Arif, along with six constables, raided their house and tortured Younas, his wife and two children. As a result of the torture, Younas died.

The Christian community put Younas's body on the Gojra-Samundri bypass road and blocked it for traffic in protest against the alleged murder.

They ended the demonstration after getting an assurance from DSP Iftikhar Tarar regarding registration of a case against the policemen.
