Seven cities to maintain 50pc attendance in schools.

LAHORE -- All public and private sector schools in seven major cities of the province will continue following the 50 per cent attendance policy contrary to the announcement by the federal education minister about regular classes in all schools from March 1.

A notification issued by the school education department on Friday said that all public and private schools in Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot and Gujrat will continue following the policy of allowing 50pc students to attend classes each day (each student to attend school three days a week) till March 31 after over 20 Covid-19 cases were detected in the last 24 hours in these districts.

Schools in the remaining 29 districts of Punjab will, however, start regular classes (five or six days per week as per their pre-Covid-19 routine)...
