Senior lawyer AK Dogar passes away.

LAHORE -- Senior lawyer Abdullah Khan Dogar, well known as A.K Dogar, passed away on Sunday following a brief ailment. He was 86.

His funeral prayers were offered after Maghrib prayers and he was buried in the local graveyard of Upper Mall Scheme. He was father-in-law of former chief justice of Lahore High Court Mamoon Rashid Sheikh. He was also a patient of Parkinson for a long time.

The Lahore High Court Bar Association has expressed its condolences on the demise of the bar member.

Mr Dogar is survived by a son, daughter and a widow. His family had migrated to Pakistan from Indian state Rampur during partition.

He remained a legal counsel of Jamatud Dawa's chief Hafiz Saeed for years and successfully defended him before courts against his detention and other actions taken against him by different governments.

He had also challenged military coup by retired Gen Pervez Musharraf in 1999 before the Supreme Court and represented late...
