Senate committee summons secretary interior, IGP Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD -- The Senate Standing CommitAtee on Interior on Thursday sumAmoned secretary interior, IGP Islamabad and other relevant offiAcials in person to attend the next meeting convened to discuss the raid at the house of Pakistan TehAreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator.

The committee that met under the chair of PTI Senator Mohsin Aziz showed serious displeasure over the absence of top officials from the meeting that was conAvened to discuss the raid at the house of Senator Saifullah Khan Nyazee.

FIA had raided the house of the PTI lawmaker the other day and confiscated some mobile phones and a laptop on charges of allegAedly operating the party's website, which is meant to collect funds from overseas Pakistanis.

The committee will use all its auAthorities including moving a priviAlege motion against these officials if they didn't turn up in the next meeting scheduled for Monday, said Senator Aziz. He said notices had also been sent to Chief ComAmissioner Capt (Retd) Mohammad Usman, IGP Dr Akbar Nasir Khan and officials of Federal InvestigaAtion Agency (FIA).
