Senate body expresses displeasure on absence of STB governor, NBP president.

Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs on Tuesday expressed its displeasure on the absence of Governor, State Bank of Pakistan and President, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). The 28th committee meeting was held at Parliament House, Islamabad under the chairmanship of MNA Faiz Ullah. A representative from NBP, during the meeting, informed that the NBP president could not attend the meeting due to delay of flights from Karachi to Islamabad. The committee members were of the view that SBP governor and NBP president should arrive well in time in Islamabad.

The committee deferred the both agenda pertaining to SBP and NBP, and decided that next meeting of the Committee would be convened in Karachi. Member (Custom Operations), FBR replied the questions raised by the members with regard to the hurdles being faced to the importers at Karachi Port. The Committee decided that an exclusive meeting will be held in that regard.
