Sehrai concerned about detainees' plight in jails.

ISLAMABAD -- Senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, has expressed concern over ill-treatment meted out to the Kashmiri prisoners in jails in Indian occupied Kashmir .

Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said the Kashmiri detainees are being punished for their political belief and legitimate political rights. It is unfortunate that despite frequent appeals none of rights organizations has visited jails in Kashmir and India where Kashmiri prisoners are lodged in dismal and pathetic conditions, he added.

He said the health condition of these prisoners has deteriorated owing to prolonged detention which is extremely inhuman and illegal.

He urged the world bodies and international organisations fighting for the prisoners' justice to visit the jails in Jammu and Kashmir and also various prisons in India where Kashmiri...
