Science classes at Oghi's only college demanded.

MANSEHRA -- Residents of Oghi and its suburbs on Monday demanded the start of science classes at the tehsil's only degree college.

'In 2018, the provincial government approved a four-year bachelor's programme for the Oghi Degree College but classes for science subjects like zoology, chemistry, physics, computer sciences and others haven't been launched yet,' local elder Haq Nawaz Hassanzai told reporters in the tehsil here.

Accompanied by a group of locals, he said the educational institution was established before Partition.

The elder said that 10 per cent of the students moved to other cities for science education after completing intermediate class.

He said that the government had formally approved BS classes for Oghi and Balakot degree colleges at the same time and that the latter started science classes to the benefit of students but the former continued to be without it.

Mr Hassanzai said that students of the neighbouring Torghar and Battagram districts also approached the college for enrollment, but to no avail.

He said that the PML-N-led federal government had approved the Hazara University's campus for Oghi but the project was in doldrums despite the release of funds to the misery of the local students of modern disciplines.
