Schools to open with strict Covid-19 SOPs, says Basharat.

LAHORE -- Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat has said that implementation of SOPs was necessary for keeping educational institutions, marriage halls and markets open. Chairing meeting of Cabinet Committee on Corona at the Chief Minister's House on Thursday, he directed launching awareness campaign about corona at educational institutions in particular and other places in general.

Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid, Special Assistant to CM for Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Minister for Education Murad Raas, Minister for Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayun, Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal, Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education and Secretaries of other relevant departments attended the meeting.

Government is opening schools and colleges for the 9th to 12th classes from January 18. However, the Health department has expressed concern that corona could increase, if SOPs are not followed in educational institutions. A...
