SCCI demands withdrawal power tariff hike on head of fuel adjustment.

PESHAWAR -- Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has termed increase in electricity tariff of 48 paisa per unit on head of fuel adjustment as detrimental for industries and businesses, demanding the government to immediately withdraw it. The demand was made by SCCI President Sherbaz Bilour while talking to different delegations of industrialists and traders here in the chamber house on Monday. Sherbaz Bilour said the industries and businesses are already reeling in wake of coronavirus pandemic while hike in electricity rate on head of fuel adjustment would further escalate industrial productivity whereas the traders' community could not be able to payoff heavy electricity bills and increase their financial depression under the present uncertain and unfavorable conditions. SCCI chief informed that National Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) had made an increase of 48 paisa per unit in electricity tariff on head of fuel adjustment for one month, affecting in the month of August 2020.
