SC summons report from environmental protection agency over water theft in Katas Raj Temple case.

ISLAMABAD -- Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, while conducting hearing of suo motu notice case regarding Katas Raj Temple, has summoned report from environmental protection agency with regard to theft of water.

Three-member bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Wednesday conducted hearing of suo motu notice case regarding Katas Raj temple.

During the hearing, Deputy Commissioner Jhelum informed the court that apparently water of the tube-well is not being wrongly used, saying that water meters are installed on all the tube-wells while 90percent pools of DG Khan Cement are filled.

Upon this, the petitioner MNA Ramesh Kumar said that the court has imposed ban on use of underground water from the last year, saying that water of Katas Raj has so far not returned.

Justice Ijazul Ahsan said that it may be possible that direction of underground water has changed. Ramesh Kumar said that it is to be seen as to whether the cement factory has not secretly...
