SC acquits death row convict over insufficient evidence.

ISLAMABAD -- The Supreme Court of Pakistan Friday ordered to release a person convicted of death sentence due to insufficient evidence and faulty investigation. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Manzoor Malik conducted hearing of an appeal against the Lahore High Court judgment in a murder case. The appellant counsel contended that there were eight accused in this case. However, the trial court released five persons due to insufficient evidence against them. He further informed that another accused Siddique had agreement with the murdered heirs, while the LHC giving benefit of doubt released another accused Ghulam Qasim.
