SBC boycotts courts today to observe May 12 mayhem anniversary.

KARACHI -- The Sindh Bar Council announced that a province-wide boycott of legal proceedings will be observed on Tuesday, the 13th anniversary of the May 12, 2007 mayhem and demanded that the tragic incident be investigated by a full bench of the higher judiciary.

The SBC in a statement said that its vice chairman, Haider Imam Rizvi, demanded that the incident must be inquired into by a full bench of the high court comprising not fewer than seven judges as ordered by then SHC chief justice Sabihuddin Ahmed or a full bench of the Supreme Court.

It deplored that the government had so far failed to fairly and independently invesAtAigate the tragic incident.
