SAU Tandojam signs MoU with PMFIC and SAFCO Support Foundation.

HYDERABAD -- Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam signed the tripartite agreement with the Pakistan Micro Finance Investment Company and SAFCO Support Foundation at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam.

Mr. Yasir Ashfaque, Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Micro Finance Investment Company (PMIC) highlighted the importance of Digital Micro Finance in increasing financial inclusion to boost up the agriculture economy of Pakistan he added that we are providing the Agri. Finance to groups of the small farmers for the purchase of agriculture inputs for better utilization of their natural resource and Agriculture Productivity Enhancement of the farming community of Sindh Pakistan. He further added that Agriculture is the engine of Pakistan economy and contribute 18.5% in GDP and employees 38.5% of the total work force but agriculture is facing many challenges and crop production is vulnerable to climate variability, and climate change associated with increases in temperature, increases in CO2, and changing patterns of rainfall may lead to a considerable decline in crop production. He urged the scientist, academia and researchers to develop their new ideas to cope the challenges of the climate change and food security and there is a need to develop the capacity of the small farmers for the adaptation of the climate change at their field level. He appreciated the efforts of the SAU management for signing the MoU for the betterment of the farming community in Sindh Pakistan and said this MoU would be helpful for the scholars, faculty members and students to conduct their problem oriented research and transfer the technology to the end users.
