Sale of substandard flour protested.

MANSEHRA -- People held a demonstration to protest the sale of substandard wheat flour in Dodial area here on Sunday.

'The government has been providing wheat quota on subsidised rate to millers, but even then they have been supplying substandard flour to over 100 outlets selected for its sale in the district,' former district councillor Nawaz Khan said while addressing the gathering held in Dodial area's main bazaar.

He said that because of extraction of fine product the millers were supplying fodder-like flour to the outlets who were selling the inferior quality commodity to buyers at subsidised price of Rs860 per 20kg bag.

He said that currently over 100 sale points established by the district food department were supplying flour on subsidised rate. He said wheat quota of the millers who could not supply quality flour to the outlets should be cancelled.
