'Safety walls to be built along water channels'.

KARAK -- MNA Shahid Khattak has said that Rs50 million has been approved for construction of safety walls along water channels to save land from erosion.

Talking to journalists here on Saturday, he said that Rs50 million was released to irrigation department for construction of safety walls along the seasonal water channels.

He said that due to absence of safety walls, a vast tract of land of the farmers was washed away by flood. 'The farmers would not face more losses after completion of the walls,' he added.

The lawmaker claimed that he released the funds for the project on the repeated demands of the farmers of the district. He recalled that he had promised with the farmers to realise their demand.

The MNA said that he was making efforts to put the district on the path of development. He resolved that he would bring the underdeveloped areas at par with the developed ones.
