Sad and disappointed on Mohammad Amir's statements: Waqar Younis.

LAHORE -- Pakistan men's team bowling coach Waqar Younis has expressed his disappointment on pacer Mohammad Amir's statements regarding him.

The 49-year-old while talking to reporters in Lahore said that it's unfortunate how the 28-year-old Amir exited from international cricket.

'I really felt disappointed with the statements of Amir and the manner in which he parted ways from international cricket,' Waqar said.

'If you ask me, I am one of those who advocated his return to international cricket. I fought with everyone for his return back then. It was unfortunate how things went,' he added.

Men's team management led by head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis has the last chance to prove themselves in the series against South Africa. According to Waqar, just like players' performance, coaching is also performance-based going forward.
