S. Punjab reports most recoveries of patients.

LAHORE -- Three districts of south Punjab have reported the highest ratio of Covid-19 recoveries across the province, while Gujranwala recorded the lowest.

In Muzaffargarh, the recovery ratio was 97.7 per cent, followed by Bahawalnagar with 87.2, Bhakkar 82.7 and Dera Ghazi Khan 80.2pc. Gujranwala has shown 19.2pc recoveries only.

The three south Punjab districts have also reported no death from coronavirus so far despite several infected patients in hospitals and quarantine centres.

According to a health department report, there were 176 patients of the virus so far in Muzaffargarh and 172 of them had recovered. In Bahawalnagar, 41 patients out of 47, in Bhakkar 77 out of 93 and in Dera Ghazi Khan 216 patients have recovered out of total 269 patients who had so far tested positive for Covid-19.

Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot districts were at the second and third last spots with lowest recovery ratio of 22.7pc and 25pc, respectively.

The report showed that the situation was disturbing in the mega cities of the province where not only the recovery ratio was very low, but the number of deaths was also alarmingly high. Faisalabad reported 26.3pc recoveries with 13 deaths, Lahore 26.7pc with 69 deaths and Multan 36pc with 36 deaths.
