Rs5.98bn surplus budget of DMC-South passed.

KARACHI -- The administrator of District Municipal Corporation-South on Thursday passed the Rs5.98 billion surplus budget for the financial year 2022-23.

According to the budget document, total expenditures during the next financial years include Rs3.69bn allocated for salaries of employees; Rs1.25bn for development works in the district; Rs340 million for contingencies and Rs548.5m for repair and maintenance work.

The district also earmarked Rs12.5m for any calamities and environmental protection.

The DMC-South expects to generate Rs650.6m from own resources in the next financial year while the provincial government will give Rs4.82bn.

Besides, it has earmarked Rs130m for payment in dues.

Speaking at the budget session, DMC-South Administrator Dr Afshan Rubab said that the municipality had a very distinct status as it was the most sensitive district of Karachi.
