Rs140m projects approved for Lower Dir.

LOWER DIR -- The district development committee (DDC) here on Friday approved over 100 small development projects worth over Rs140 million in Lower Dir under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Community-Driven Local Development (CDLD) policy.

A meeting in this regard was held at the district council hall, Balambat, with deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan in the chair. Additional deputy commissioner planning Tariq Jamal, finance officer Hafeezullah, CDLD programme officer Asif Khan, senior programme engineer Umar Khiyam, TMO Pervez Akhtar and heads of other government departments attended the meeting.

The DDC approved a total of 107 projects, including street pavement, water supply, construction of check dams and small irrigation channels. It was decided that eight projects in Balambat tehsil, 14 in Adenzai, 27 in Timergara, 14 in Khall, 14 in Munda, 24 in Lal Qila tehsil and six projects in education and soil conservation would be completed with a total cost of over Rs140 million.

The projects include repair of 41 link roads, pavement of five streets, construction of 55 water supply schemes, one check dam, irrigation channels and boundary walls of graveyards.
