'Rs130bn development projects will be completed in next two years'.

RAWALPINDI -- Development projects worth Rs130 billion in Rawalpindi will be completed in the next two years, Commissioner retired Capt Mohammad Mehmood said on Thursday while talking to the local business community.

'As many as nine projects will be completed. These projects include construction of Ring Road worth Rs50 billion, Leh Nullah Expressway Rs61 billion, construction of Kachehri Chowk Underpass worth Rs5 billion, Ammar Chowk Underpass worth Rs830 million, Daducha Dam worth Rs6.49 billion, construction of Freelancer Hub, rehabilitation of old Soan Bridge, six parking plazas worth Rs5 billion and a modern bus terminal,' he said.

The divisional commissioner visited Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and held a briefing on key development projects being carried out by the provincial government.

RCCI President Mohammad Nasir Mirza along with representatives from the business community were present on the occasion.

He informed the business community that projects worth Rs130 billion in Rawalpindi will be completed in the next two years and some projects had been launched while others will start by end of this fiscal year, adding, the provincial government was working hard to improve the infrastructure and in this regard, it sought help of the business community to give suggestions for further improvement.

He said the basic aim of his visit was also to seek suggestions regarding development projects from the business community as after the completion of projects, business activities in the region increased many fold.
