Role of UN on Kashmir issue criticised.

HYDERABAD -- Speakers in a programme on the role of United Nations (UN) on Kashmir issue have said that unannounced curfew has been imposed in occupied Kashmir and people were deprived of health facilities, but the UN was 'sitting idle'.

They said that reports about violation of sanctity of chador and char deewari were received on a daily basis.

The programme was organised by District Police Peace Committee in Sindh Museum the other day.

They said Kashmir would soon become part of Pakistan as oppression and atrocities unleashed by the Indian government could not continue for long. They regretted that the world community remained a silent spectator. Minor children were not getting medicines and sanctity of personal space was being violated, they added.

The speakers said that silence of the UN over the issue was not understandable. They said the UN remained concerned about animals' rights, but it was not looking into human rights abuses in the held valley, which was making the UN 'irrelevant'.
