Robbers have a field day in city.

LAHORE -- A group of four robbers allegedly looted valuables over Rs10 million, including gold ornaments, from the house of a doctor in Model Town on Thursday.

They also drove away a car from his house, say police.

A police official said the robbers forced their entry into the house of Dr Irfan and held him and his family hostage at gunpoint. They locked some of them in a room, and collected cash and other valuables.

Dr Irfan later told the police the robbers fled away with 125 tola gold ornaments, 11 mobile phones, Rs2.8m cash and valuables from his house.

He alleged one of the robbers injured him with the butt of his gun when he tried to stop them from misbehaving with female family members.

In Sattokatla, two robbers entered a garments shop, snatched a cell phone and Rs80,000 from the manager and fled.

Similarly, three armed men barged into the house of Musawwar Hussain in Sattokatla area, held him and his family at gunpoint and took away Rs200,000 in cash and other valuables.

In Barki area, two armed motorcyclists intercepted Farooq and his family, snatched 190,000 and mobile phones and fled away.
