Robbers' gang busted, arms smuggling bid foiled.

TAXILA -- Attock police in different attempts busted a five-member interprovincial gang of robbers and also foiled a bid to smuggle arms and ammunition from KP to Punjab and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition.

Talking to newsmen on Tuesday, District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani said a police team led by station house officer Hazro Sub-Inspector Gul Faraz Khan intercepted a car near Chach interchange. During the search, 26,000 rounds, three Kalashnikovs, two 12-bore guns and 25 pistols were recovered from the vehicle. He said only one smuggler was travelling in the car who managed to escape taking advantage of the heavy traffic. He said the police registered a case and launched a haunt to arrest the suspect.
