Road in oil-rich Shakardarra dilapidated.

KOHAT -- The dilapidated condition of the road between Rehmanabad and Shakardarra Rural-II in the oil and gas-rich constituency of KP-81 has become a permanent nuisance for the commuters.

Even as 50 per cent of the roy-alty funds go to the KP-81 out of the three constituencies of the Kohat district it has been the most neglected area.

The link between the two towns is completely cut off whenever there is rain as the road becomes almost unusable as it turns into a dirt track.

Tariq Mehdi, the Qaumi Jirga president, told Dawn that a stretchof the road built in 2015 had been completely washed away. He regretted the authorities had failed to pay heed to the appeals of local people to blacktop the road.

He said tenders for blacktopping of the road had been Hoated, but according to the focal person of MNA and State Minister for Kashmir Affairs Sheharyar Afridi, the lawmaker was busydue to which the road`s groundbreaking was being delayed.

M o h a m m a d Tariq, a former nazim, said people had been hearing that tenders for the road had been floated for last one decade, but the important artery remained absent from the sight of the MPs.
