Road blocked over death in police custody.

SHANGLA -- The residents of Karora blocked Bisham-Swat Road on Thursday and staged protest against death of a man in police custody. The man was arrested by police on charges of possessing 110-gram hashish.

The enraged protesters including relatives of the deceased, Syed Ali Akbar Shah, gathered outside Karora police station on Wednesday night and also on Thursday and blocked the road. They were chanting slogans against police.

The protesters demanded of the chief minister and inspector general of policeto take action against the police over the custodial death of the man.

After the intervention of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Minister for Labour Shaukat Yousafzai, police registered case against ASHO Nasib Zada.

Said Mohammad Shah, a brother of the deceased, said in the FIR that his brother was arrested by ASHO Nasib on charges of possessing hashish. He said that he was severely beaten while being taken to the police station.
