Rise in number of deaths from coronavirus worrisome: Shehbaz.

LAHORE -- Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharifon Tuesday said that rise in number of deaths from novel coronavirus is worrisome.

In a statement issued on social media on Tuesday, Shehbaz Sharif said that instead of self-deception, an immediate meeting of Council of Common Interests (CCI) should be convened.

Shehbaz Sharif also called for a joint strategy against coronavirus after consultation with doctors, administration, political and military leadership.

Shehbaz Sharif has questioned the PTI-led federal government's stance on the coronavirus lockdown. 'What is the government's alternate strategy if they are not imposing a complete lockdown,' he said. He said that the government should show its administrative powers regarding treatment and implementation of precautionary measures instead of issuing statements in media. He said that without proper preparation imposing lockdown and easing it without taking proper steps could be proved dangerous.

He said that 120 deaths in 24 hours and confirmation of thousands of coronavirus patients have proved the government analysis wrong.
