Ring Road to stretch from Rawat to motorway.

RAWALPINDI -- The proposed Ring Road will be constructed from Radio Pakistan in Rawat to Islamabad Motorway with five interchanges at a total cost of Rs44 billion.

This was stated during a briefing to Commissioner retired Capt Mohammad Mehmood on Thursday.

The commissioner said the provincial government wanted to start the work on the 36.8 kilometre-long road in March. He said funds would be allocated after completion of PC-I.

The Ring Road project was initiated in 1991 by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) but due to frequent changes in governments funds could not be allocated.
