Right Approach scores classy win in Midsummer Cup.

LAHORE -- Favourite bay mare Right Approach stamped her class superiority over her six rivals while landing the Midsummer Cup during the third Lahore Winter MeetAing at the Racecourse on Sunday.

The 5-4 favourite mare led all the way home from the start to beat dark-bay Jabbar Prince by over two lengths with Khan Jan and One For Seven completing the frame. The winner covered the 1,100-metre race distance in a fast time of one minute 5 3/5 seconds.

The winning owner Mohammad Aslam Khan received the cup from Lahore Race Club (LRC) steward Fawad Ahmed Cheema soon after the race.

A race later, the odds-on favourite dark-bay filly Raat Ki Rani stormed home to win the Kaghan Cup run over 1,100 metres. She beat bay mare Abdullah Princess by five lengths.

LRC chairman Tariq Aziz gave away the cup to the winning owner Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar.

The outstanding performer of the day's racing was filly Tiffany's owned by Tariq Aziz who won her second successive race within a week. She beat 50-100 favourite filly Missing My Love by five lengths with great ease.

Meanwhile, it was officially announced that the next Lahore Summer Meeting will be held on Saturday (June 1) instead of Sunday.
