Renowned Jurist SM Zafar Passes Away at 93.

LAHORE -- Distinguished Pakistani jurist and former Senator, Syed Muhammad Zafar, popularly known as SM Zafar, passed away at the age of 93 in Lahore, as confirmed by his family members. Zafar had been suffering from illness for an extended period.

The family issued a statement expressing their deep sorrow over his demise and extended their heartfelt condolences. Zafar's funeral prayer is scheduled to be held in Lahore.

SM Zafar, a prominent human rights activist and distinguished lawyer, also served as the federal Minister for Law and Justice from 1965 to 1969. He had a remarkable career spanning over six decades, impacting the judiciary, politics, and human rights advocacy in Pakistan.
