Rehabilitation plan for flood victims of Punjab approved.

LAHORE -- Senior Provincial Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal on Tuesday approved the rehabilitation plan for flood victims of Punjab.

Chairing a meeting here, he said that canals, distributaries and water courses damaged due to floods, would be repaired on an emergency basis while roads and infrastructure from farms to markets would be reconstructed on a priority basis. Financial assistance would also be provided to the victims by estimating the flood-affected crops and other damages, he said.

The Senior Minister said that they had set priorities for the rehabilitation of the flood victims, adding that winter season was around the corner and the flood victims sitting in the open sky would be protected. The officers and officials doing well in the relief and rescue operations, would be encouraged, he assured.
