Regularisation issue: Teachers announce protest drive.

LAHORE -- Punjab Muttahida Mahaz-i-Asatza on Tuesday announced launching of a protest drive against the school education department for not regularising educators.

A large number of teachers gathered outside the Civil Secretariat and shouted slogans against the government.

Muttahida Mahaz-i-Asatza Chairman Hafiz Abdul Nasir, Hafiz Ghulam Mohiyuddin, Rasheed Bhatti, Kashif Shehzad and others were present at the protest.

The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with demands and slogans for regularisation, stating that otherwise they would boycott the upcoming examinations of the Punjab Examination Commission.

They said Punjab School Education Minister Murad Raas was implementing policies of the previous government with new titles and minor changes.

The school education department officials did not listen to the teachers who were the real stakeholders of the policies. They said the educators were appointed on merit after they passed the National Testing Service test but the previous government...
