Rally against sexual harassment of girl students, women teachers at educational institutes.

HYDERABAD -- Civil society including writers, intellectuals, teachers, students, journalists and women activists took out a big rally, against sexual harassment of girls/ women at higher educational institutes and at places of work, from Nasim Nagar to press club where sit in was observed. Participants were chanting slogans and carrying out banners and placards inscribed with slogans against sexual harassment with women.

The rally was taken under aegis of Sindhi Shagird Ittehad. Addressing rally professor Arfana Mallah said women were facing sexual harassment at educational institutes and at work places. She said there was legislation against it but it was not being implemented. She urged upon authorities to provide protection to women by implementing the laws. Professor Imdad Chandio provincial coordinator of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan said harassment of women teachers and girl students in educational institutes was common which must be stopped as no society can make advances without equality of women.
