Railways is the most corrupt institution of country: CJP.

ISLAMABAD -- While conducting hearing of the case related to the railway audit report, Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed has remarked that Railways is the most corrupt institution of Pakistan.

Three-member bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed on Monday conducted hearing of the case related to the railway audit report.

The Supreme Court summoned Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid in the case and said that 'nothing in the institution is functioning properly'.

Expressing annoyance at the performance of the strategic institution, the court remarked that 'a person should first travel by train before taking over the ministry'.

The bench further said that the railways was the most corrupt institution of Pakistan.

'The records are not computerized,' Supreme court remarked, 'The stations and railway tracks are not in order. Every passenger travelling by train is in danger. The freight trains are also not operating.'
