Railways holds 'dress rehearsal' at Cantt Station.

KARACHI -- The Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that Pakistan Railways is determined to resume passenger train operations before Eidul Fitr. He announced this through a recorded message to the media late on Thursday evening, following his failure to get the prime minister's immediate approval to start running passenger trains from May 10.

However, earlier in the day, in a bid to examine the operational parameters under the standard operating procedures ahead of resuming passenger train service, the Karachi division of Pakistan Railways had held a full 'dress rehearsal' at the Cantonment Railway Station.

The medical, security and station staffers had been strictly directed to ensure stern implementation of all SOPs.

Every part of Cantt Station was sprayed with disinfectants ahead of the rehearsal held under supervision of Pakistan Railways, Karachi Divisional Superintendent Arshad Salam Khattak.
