Railway officials flatten greenbelt built by PDA.

PESHAWAR -- The railway authorities on Monday flattened a greenbelt the Peshawar Development Authority had set up on an area between a road and a railway track in the University Town here.

Officials said that the PDA had spent Rs21 million on building the greenbelt.

An official in the civic agency told Dawn that railway authorities on Monday rushed to the site and levelled the greenbelt. He said that though the railway had not issued a proper NOC for the greenbelt, the issue was taken up with them at the highest level. But the railway authorities acted in an inappropriate manner to flatten the greenbelt.
