Railway employees protest against non-payment of salaries.

KARACHI -- The railway's employees staged a protest due to non-payment of salaries in the month of Ramadan, media reported on Monday.

In a statement, the workers who gathered at the Pakistan Railways' Locomotive Shed said that they had not received their salaries from February and demanded the immediate disbursement of their pay.

Last week, Divisional Superintendent (DS) railway also assured about the disbursement of the salaries, but the salaries were not disbursed yet.

The employees said that those who were putting their lives at risk to restore the railway tracks were in a state of despair. Due to the strike, the departure of trains faced delays from Karachi.
