Railcar passengers stranded after freight train derails.

KOHAT -- Hundreds of passengers of Rawalpindi-Kohat railcar service were stranded at the Basal station from 5pm till late Sunday night after a freight train carrying oil from Karachi to Peshawar derailed in Namal area.

The passengers, including elderly, women and children, suffered in extreme cold as there was nobody to help them with food and water.

There was no arrangement of food and water at the Basal station and road transport near it.

Meanwhile, a football tournament kicked off here on Monday among Kohat, Hangu and Darra Adamkhel tribal subdivision teams organised by a local cement factory to help eradicate drug addiction among youth by involving them in healthy activities.
