Punjab Culture Day observed in Attock.

TAXILA -- Punjab Culture Day was celebrated in Attock on Monday during which music, dance performances, display of traditional art and craft were held.

A number of events were organised in various parts of the district. Stalls decorated with traditional and cultural items from different areas were set up in various schools.

Educational institutions organised shows to promote Punjabi culture while traditional food stalls, tableaus and other programmes were also held.

The main event was organised at municipal committee school Attock. Many government officials donned traditional dresses and turbans and prominent among them were Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rao Atif Raza, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Waqas Aslam Marth, Chief Executive District Education Authority Malik Mohsin Abbas and District Education Officer Akram Zia. Performances of schoolchildren were organised in association with All Pakistan Private School Management Association.

About 500 children from different schools dressed in traditional Punjabi attire celebrated the event.

Speaking on this occasion, the deputy commissioner said centuries-old traditions of Punjab are a source of pride for the people even today.
