Punjab Assembly passes six bills.

LAHORE -- The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday passed six bills including the four laws sent back to the Assembly by the Punjab governor without giving assent.

Punjab Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Basharat Raja presented 'The Multan University of Sciences and Technology Bill 2022 and 'The Sahara University Bill 2022' in the House which were unanimously approved.

The minister informed the House that in the last session, the House had passed four bills which included 'The Aspire University Lahore Bill', 'The Bahawalpur Metropolitan University Bill 2021', 'The Lahore City University Bill 2021' and 'The Punjab Free and Compulsory Education Bill 2020' which were later sent to the Governor of Punjab for approval. However, the Governor has sent back the bills without approving them. The minister re-introduced all the bills in the Assembly which were again approved by the House with a majority vote.

Also, member of Assembly Syed Usman Mehmood presented a resolution in the House expressing deep grief and sorrow over the boat sinking tragedy in the Indus River in the limits of Machhaka, Sadiqabad (Rahim Khan District) which was approved by the Assembly.
