PTI requests formation of larger bench on Imran's ECP plea.

LAHORE -- The counsel representing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, in a plea challenging the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) section under which Imran Khan was disqualified, urged the court that a larger bench should be formed due to the 'importance of the case'.

Following the request, Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi sent the case file to LHC chief justice for constituting a larger bench.

Earlier, the ECP had disqualified PTI chairman and deposed premier Imran Khan under Article 63(1)(p) as it announced its verdict in the Toshakhana (gift depository) reference.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) Nasar Ahmed raised an objection over the maintainability of the petition while also noting that no concerned ministry was made respondent in this petition.
