PTCL pensioners protest cuts in amount despite SC order.

SUKKUR -- A large number of pensioners including widows staged a demonstration on Monday in protest against the Pakistan Telecommunications Limited (PTCL) for failing to pay full amount of pension to its retired workers.

The protesters raised slogans against the PTCL management and demanded payment of full amount of pension they were entitled to as per orders of courts and Senate's standing committee.

Talking to journalists, the protesters' leaders Ashraf Ghazali, Jalil Anwar and Saifullah said that since 2010 the PTCL management had not been paying them full amount of monthly as well as annual pension.

They said that sometimes they were paid half the entitled amount and sometimes only one third of the pension. 'We moved courts to fight for our legal rights and the high court and even the Supreme Court vindicated our stand,' they said.
