LAHORE -- Young opening batter Saim Ayub thanked Peshawar Zalmi for giving him the opportunity to learn.

Taking to Twitter after Zalmi were knocked out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8, Saim said he enjoyed his time with Babar Azam and company.

"Thankyou Peshawar Zalmi for all the great moments full of joy and learnings. Unfortunately, results weren't the way we wanted but all of us were loyal to our culture. Congrats and wishes for both the teams in final," he wrote.

Saim had a wonderful event throughout. The young batter notched 341 runs in 12 matches at an average of 28.41. He smashed five fifties during the tournament.

On Friday, Lahore Qalandars beat Zalmi by four wickets in the second Eliminator.

Chasing the 172-run target, Qalandars reached home in 18.5 overs.

Qalandars lost Fakhar Zaman (6) early after he has castled while trying to play a big heave. Azmatullah Omarzai was the successful bowler.
