Provision of facilities to shelter homes ordered.

PESHAWAR -- Seven shelter homes are fully functional in the province to provide free night stay and meal facilities to the needy and vulnerable segments of the society with the mutual collaboration of Pakistan Baitul Mal and the provincial government.

These shelter homes have capacity of night stay for 800 people, according to a statement issued here on Monday.

The shelter homes are functional in Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Swat and Bannu. Another shelter home will soon be made operational in the provincial capital.

A meeting held here with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair was told about the shelter homes. Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Social Welfare Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Social Welfare Director Habib Afridi and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
