The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Friday took out protest rallies in more than 60 cities across the country, including Lahore, where heirs of those killed in the Model Town shootout on June 17, 2004, demanded justice, asking the chief justice to intervene.

Marching from Aiwan-i-Iqbal to the press club, protesters said it had been eight years since the tragedy happened and they had been on the roads, demanding justice but had not got it for all these years.

The appeals of the complaints have been lying pending with the Lahore High Court for record years and those who perpetrated it are still enjoying routine postings and official perks to greater pain for the victims.
