Protesters want work resumed on Bisham hospita006C.

SHANGLA -- The residents of different parts of Bisham staged a protest at tehsil headquarters hospital on Saturday to demand resumption of work on the major health facility of the region.

Work on the hospital was suspended three months ago. The locals including political leaders from Dandai, Maira, Batkot, Shang, Butyal, and Kormang union councils of Bisham tehsil said that the building of the hospital had been demolished two years ago to reconstruct it. They said work on the hospital was suspended owing to shortage of funds.

Mohammad Zada, the president of Bisham trade union, said that the hospital was visited by patients from different parts of Kohistan, Battagram and Shangla. He said that the victims of Karakoram Highway traffic accidents were always treated in Bisham hospital. He said that people faced severe problems after demolition of the hospital. He said that hospital was without a proper building.

Village chairman Taj Malook said that government should have allocated funds for the project before demolishing the hospital. He said that demolishing all parts of the hospital and then stopping work on it were an injustice of government with the people of five districts.
