Protest as missing trader found dead.

KASUR -- Allahabad police on Tuesday recovered the body of a pesticide dealer, who had gone missing on Monday (Jan 16), near Tangrian village.

After recovery of the body, the victim's family members, relatives, fellow traders and other locals blocked Allahabad Chowk on Dipalpur Road for traffic in protest against his 'kidnap and murder'. The local traders also went on a shutter down strike.

According to police, pesticide dealer Ghulam Rasool went to his shop on Monday early in the morning to deal with a customer, but did not return home.

After failing to trace him, the dealer's family reported the matter to police and a case was registered against unidentified kidnappers.

On Tuesday, police recovered his body from a deserted place near Tangrian village, some 20km from the victim's house.

After collecting evidence, the police shifted the body to the local tehsil headquarters hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

According to police, the body had no marks of violence as per initial medical report.

They said the samples of the body had been sent to lab for chemical analysis.
