Prospective Power Tariff Hike Looms for K-Electric Consumers.

KARACHI -- Reports suggest that another power tariff increase may be on the horizon for K-Electric consumers during the April-June quarter of 2023.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is set to consider K-Electric's plea for a hike of Rs3.02 per unit under quarterly adjustment on October 19.

Previously, on September 5, NEPRA had approved an increase in power tariffs for K-Electric consumers based on monthly fuel adjustment charges. Electricity prices were raised by Rs1.48 to Rs4.45 after the federal government approved NEPRA's request for the hike, impacting consumers paying electricity bills in October and November 2023.
